Anna Berezina was born and raised in a small town in Ukraine. Since childhood, she dreamed of a career in medicine to help people. An example for little Anna was her grandmother Olga, who had been a doctor all her life. Her grandmother often took her to the hospital, so the girl was involved in medicine from a young age.

Anna studied in Kyiv, as there was no medical university in her town. After graduating from the university, the girl decided that it was time to realize her dream and start working as a doctor. She wanted to return home, but in the hometown it was difficult to get a job in her specialty. Therefore, Berezina remained in the capital, where she worked for several years as a family doctor. However, there were few prospects for further career growth, and the salary of Ukrainian doctors has always been low. In addition, she had to pay the rent on her own.

Suddenly, her aunt Elena, who had left for Italy six months ago to work as a nurse, invited Anna Berezina to join her. The girl initially refused, as she had never traveled outside of Ukraine before. In addition, she did not know either English or Italian to live in this country. She was also frightened by the prices for renting an apartment in Europe, which were much higher than in Kyiv. However, the aunt offered her niece to live in her apartment and pay nothing. Elena was the sister of Anna's mother, so the girl happily agreed.
